Anybody want to get a little stronger?
I'm kind of in a rut. I'm finding that my 3 mile runs 4 times a week aren't burning off all that beer and yummy food that I'm indulging in.
So I'm recognizing that I need to shake it up a bit, and I've been reading about building muscle and strength to help raise your metabolism and burn more calories.
So I found a super-cool site that is a 6 week plan to gradually build your strength so you can do 100 push ups at a time! The plan takes about 30 minutes a week- that's about 10 minutes a day, three times a week. Totally do-able, right?
Want to do it with me?

Um yea no-Sorry I don't do pushups or run or exercise:)
j/k on the non exercise I chase the kiddos around. Oh and I do have that Wii Fitt sitting here in the living room that did so good getting me ready for the beach, maybe I should pull it back out:)
I'm in...but I may have to do girl push-ups. Let's hope I do better than I did on the C25K plan...which I'm restarting in September. I started cycling this summer so I kind of fell off the running bandwagon until it starts getting cooler again. At least I'm still exercising, right?!
I'm in!
Well, Sasha you are just too cool. I am impressed with the whole "3 mile run four times a week" thing.
well, um, can't join you in the push-ups (dr.s orders :) ) but check out this site to shake up your cardio...

we run outside so not sure how you can work it on a tread mill, but it kicks our bootie!
gl!
Thanks.. I will link to you and post about this! Very cool!
I am totally in. I need something to do for my strength training day, I can't stand weights.
GOOD FOR YOU! But I have to admit, I hate strenghthen exercises (weights and such). I like my treadmill and yoga--even though I hit a plateau after 6 pounds!
My brother has been doing the plan for many weeks now. HE keeps getting stuck on week 2. I've been mulling it over, maybe I'll pull the trigger and join in.
I'm scared! But I'm gonna try it.
Ooooh I'm in! When do we start?!
I am new to your blog...but if you don't mind, I'm in.
I came over from the OSB site... I'm going to try this!
I do push-ups every day, it is truly one of the best exercises there is that doesn't involve any equipment. Not so sure I could do 100 at once though.
I've found that running and doing free weights works the best for me. Muscle mass burns a lot of calories, so I can indulge in the Summer of Beer that much more.
DH and I started last night. Thanks Sasha!
