You know when you see those posts on the BHB that say "My Christmas crack didn't set up right! What did I do wrong"?
Well, this is not one of those posts. My attempt at Red Velvet Cake Balls did not go well, but I don't need hints or suggestions because I won't be making them again. Ever. They are my nemesis. Yummy, but my nemesis.
You can see that I tried to dip the two balls on the right in the coating. (I'm 99% sure I got the wrong kind of coating, which is a typical Sasha move.) After that, I gave up and just slopped the coating on top of the balls. Hence the new name "Snow-Capped Volcanoes". They are a million more of those bitches and making them wore me plum out.
They still taste good, but they look like shit. We've had a good laugh over them at the office today.

I am laughing so hard...because I am so glad that someone else had a disaster with those things...I too tried Kelly's recipe for those and did something wrong because I didn't even get to the dipping point...when I stirred my cake mix and frosting together the frosting melted! I thought I waited long enough...but apparently not and I had a mushy mess....I guess we need to leave the cake balls to Kelly! But man would I sure like to atleast try one...I have never had one and she makes them all the time and they look SO GOOD!!!
Be glad they didn't turn out! I made them one time and now every time I go to a party I am required to bring them. They are SO good but they take FOREVER to make!
I've had trouble with red velvet too. Mine came out like little biscuts it was awkward and they were good, and almost addicting, but in a wierd weird way.
hahaha!! That's hilarious, girl! I have a feeling mine would turn out the same way or even worse knowing my luck!
I've never tried to make them!
I love eating things that look like crud! It's fun and gives everyone something to laugh about!
