The kids have been wanting a puppy, but I don't think that would be a wise move, animal-cruelty-wise, because I've managed to kill 4 Sea Monkeys over the last few days.
The whole sea money thing was sketchy from the get-go, because only five of the damn things appeared rather than the millions I was expecting. I decided I was OK with that, because they were pretty cool and although the kids weren't too jazzed, *I* was. Pretty cool that these living things came out of a a package not too different from a Splenda pack.
But as of yesterday there is only one lone sea monkey swimming around..... and a bunch of dead ones at the bottom.
This $7 hobby is much more complicated than I expected. What do I do now? Get more? Call it a day? Boycott the whole shebang and spread the word?

I love you and all, but brine shrimp just aren't a real pet. Get a fishy or something small like that. Snails, while gross, can live through just about anything. Unfortunately, I know this fact all too well. :)
OMG, I always wanted to get some of those sea monkeys when I was a kid but my mom wouldn't ever let me for some unknown reason! Boo!
I enlarged the picture of your tank and don't see anything swimming around in there?!
I grew up with dogs and I have to tell you, they're much easier to remember to feed and stuff. They tell you when they're hungry or thirsty or when they need to go potty whereas a sea monkey probably just swims around all day and doesn't try to attract your attention.
We have our own little zoo here....bring the kids on over :)
